The award, which was established in 2010, recognizes the highest levels of integrity, fairness, democratic leadership and academic achievement of a graduate student enrolled in one of the department’s programs. This award is given once per year and is presented at the College of Education and Psychology Awards Day, which was held on March 27, 2013 .

“The quality of materials provided by the award nominees were highly competitive,” said Dr. Georgianna L. Martin, assistant professor in the Department of Educational Studies and Research at USM. “The selection committee’s decision to award Tammy this honor speaks to her merits as a leader in the ESR community.”

Franks is scheduled to complete her doctoral studies in 2014.
