MGCCC men’s tennis rolls past Meridian

MGCCC’S Sean Robinson was one of two men’s players that won in singles and doubles against Meridian Apr. 13.

A season of dominance continues for the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College as the men’s squad improved to 12-0 with an 8-1 win at Meridian on April 13.

Alex Puyol and Sean Robinson were both winners in singles and doubles play, with Puyol downing Joshua Marx in No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-3 and Robinson avenging an early season loss to Ducky Troutman in a 6-3, 6-2 victory.

Lachlan Puyol, Nick Georgian, Travis Burdick, and Grant Bell were also winners for Gulf Coast.

In doubles action, A. Puyol/Robinson shut out Marx/Kevin Millet 8-0

while Travis Burdick/Grant Bell took down Harrison Warren/Mohammed Wahidi 9-8(6).

The women’s team fell to Meridian 9-0.

Gulf Coast now heads to the MACJC Tournament in Tupelo beginning Thursday.
