  • Wireless upgrades have reached completion in residence halls, academic and most staff buildings on the Perkinston Campus.
  • The JD Fine Arts Department invites you to experience the current gallery exhibit, Scenes of a Scene, by Pascagoula artist, Robby Amonette.  The exhibit includes several large scale finished paintings, but the show is predominately made up of “action painting” which may be thought of as “sketches in paint”.  The artist’s subject matter is primarily live musical performances, which are quickly rendered in oil or acrylic.  Amonette paints from life and this often takes him anywhere from local musical venues to the Delta and beyond.  The exhibit will run through October 18.
  • Over seventy participants turned out for the 2nd Annual Patriot Day 5k Walk/Run on the Perkinston Campus.  Held on September 11th, in commemoration of the attacks on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, this year’s event saw participants face not only the course but the heat as well.  Gio Freitas was the fastest male participant with total time of 21:14 and April Handy was the fastest female participant with a total time of 23:07.  The next scheduled Student Activities 5k will be the Fallen Soldier 5k in honor of Veteran’s Day on November 11th.
  • Please take a minute to update your emergency contact information for our Connect 5 notification system. To ensure emergency notification through Connect 5 (the old Connect-ED system), visit Web Services by logging in through the college website. The Web Services link can be found at the top of the college website.  If you don’t know your PIN, it will prompt you to find out your assigned PIN and will allow you to change it. Once you have logged in to the secure area, click on Personal Information and then click Emergency Notification Information (near the bottom, left-hand side of the page).  The system will prompt you to update your cell phone and email information.
  • Don’t forget to take advantage of the Medical Analysis Clinics now open on or near each of our campuses for use by students, employees, and employee dependents!  At each of these clinics high-quality primary care will be available to you for a $10 fee.  MGCCC is pleased to have clinics on the Perkinston Campus, Jackson County Campus, and George County Center.  We are also excited to offer our Jefferson Davis Campus, Keesler Center, AMTC, West Harrison Center, and Naval Construction Battalion Center employees the opportunity to seek care at the Medical Analysis Clinic on Division Street in Biloxi.
