Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Perk Players will perform William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” on February 11-13. The production will begin at 6:30 each evening in the Black Box Theatre at Malone Hall on the Perkinston Campus.
Shakespeare warns us, “Lord what fools these mortals be!” and there it all begins. Throw in two pairs of star-crossed lovers, a troop of inept amateur actors, a festering argument between the King and Queen of fairies, a love potion, a mischievous sprite, and an enchanted moonlit forest, shake well, and you will get Shakespeare’s most romantic comedy. The result will be a night of merriment and magic for the audience as they follow the characters through a zany journey to find true love.
The cast includes AmieeRuth Causey Rogers as Puck; Kathleen Gartman as Helena; Briatta Jenkins as Titania; Breanna Harbuck as Hermia; Aidan Boone as Demetrius; Brinson Smith as Lysander; Nicolae Holley as Oberon; Wyatt Wood as Theseus; Jackson Jones as Bottom; and Brittnie Hagerdon, Ashley Wood, Brittany Williams, Caitlin Dalrymple, Chrissy Mitchell, Taylor Smith, Dixie Cripps, Chellsa Moody and Katie Henke as the Fairy Chorus. The Acting Company is Lane Harris, Alex Lince, Wyatt Wood, and Christie Guthrie. Daisha Walker is the director.
All admission is $5. For ticket information or reservations, call 601.928.6369.
